experiments, tap, and a new pope

Yep, those 5 words sum up my two days off.
Yesterday was full of experimenting with recipes (white cake and pudding).
Cake was a win, but the pudding was a flop.
Oh well, I was just trying to use up the leftover egg yolks anyway.
I got sucked into the revealing of the new pope being elected once I caught wind of the white smoke coming from the the vatican.
I first heard of the white smoke via Twitter.
Sometimes I'm not sure what I would do without social media- good news just travels so fast!
Then I tap danced.
It was rough.
I need to practice.
A lot.
Our recital is almost exactly 2 months away.
Scary.

I'm still fighting a head cold/allergies combo, so my head feels like it's being smooshed.
My insurance doesn't pick up until the 1st of April, so that's great.
I hope this head crap doesn't turn into anything else.
I can't really afford office visits right now.
Not unless I'm dying.

My cake business type thing is picking up, so that's cool.
I have a few more cakes lined up for the next two months, so that's really nice.
It's a little extra money, and a whole lot of experience.
Now I need to figure out how to make a kangaroo out of modeling chocolate.
It will be interesting...
I hope it turns out well!

I have yet to begin to write my maid of honor speech for my BFF's wedding in May.
I know I have a few months, but I like to be super prepared.
Almost overly prepared.
That's just how I roll.
I'm also not prepared for a two mile race that I'm doing in the beginning of April, so that's cool.
Bah.

I just need to say the following mantra to myself every morning.
I put it in a frame next to my bed so I can see it when I wake up.

Coffee is great, and we got 5 inches of snow last night.
Congratulations, you are now caught up on the randomness of my life from the past two days.
Tune in next time for more random topics.

Think Spring,
Bamf
