It's true.
I think I have cake on the mind for 16+ hours of the day.
I am a cake decorator, so those hours that I work are devoted to decorating.
When I get home I am constantly thinking about finding a new recipe, looking at cake designs on Pinterest, or thinking of what to do for upcoming cakes for friends.
It's just what I do.
As I continue to fail at getting interviews for jobs I've applied to, I wonder if I'm getting rejected because I am truly supposed to own my own cake business in life.
Slowly but surely cake decorating has become a passion in life.
I love the end results, and I like having my creative juices flowing.
I should probably take more classes for fondant/gumpaste.
I just wish they weren't so expensive.
If I could afford to cut down my hours at work in order to gain more skills, I would.
Too bad life doesn't work that way...
Until then, I will just keep trucking along.
And I'll continue to make more frosting flowers, and then proceed to post them all over Instagram.
I'm sure my few followers just love me.

I just get some crazy joy in seeing pretty flowers that look so similar to real ones... I'm weird, I know.
I attempted to create a recipe to enter in the county and state fair, but I never got around to it.
This year I am committed to it, and I am actively working on the recipe.
It is a chocolate banana cake with a banana buttercream frosting.
I love chocolate, and I love bananas.
Perfect.
My last recipe I made caused the cake to sink in the middle.
Good news is that it didn't with this new recipe, but it did turn out a little dry.
My coworkers are my official taste testers, so they get to eat all the cake goodness.
I am formulating fixes to the dry cake chronicles, so hopefully next time will be a little better!
This post basically sums up my weekend: I worked, and therefore I looked at cake for many hours.
Tomorrow is day 5 of my five day work stretch, so I am looking forward to having wednesday off so I can have a massage!
I'MSOEXCITED!!!!!!
OK, I'm hungry so I need food in my tummy stat.
I will leave you with two recommendations:
Read this book, it's beautiful.
Eat these (Jolly Rancher Jellybeans) while they are available.
They are THE. BEST. EVER.
Seriously.
Do it.
Stay classy, and I hope you are not living in a place where a blizzard is almost happening.
Like in MN.
It's cold and lame.
Dreaming of cake,
Bamf
