Done with them in 37 minutes. Hoorah.
This morning was a great debate.
My alarm went off at 6am, and today is the beginning of my three day weekend, mind you.
I woke up, saw a little bit of sun, and the debate went through my head.
In my head i kept going back and forth saying "it's too cold" "i'll probably die" "just 5 more minutes" "i'll probably slip on some ice and break something".
All of these excuses running through my head.
The last 'excuse' is half true.
I'm ridiculously clumsy, so the odds of me slipping and breaking something on ice is a real possibility.
After I went back to sleep at 6, I dreamt that I woke again at 10 and didn't go.
However, when I did wake, it was only 8.
I got on my phone, checked the weather, and was shocked by the temps.
One app (the weather channel) said it was -1 degrees outside.
The other app (normal iPhone weather app) said it was 10 degrees.
I was concerned that it really was -1.
So I texted my friend, and she confirmed that it was at least 10 outside.
At first I was relieved, and then kicking myself because there wasn't any good reason for me NOT to go.
So I got out of bed, threw in my contacts, put on four layers of tops, two layers of pants, a headband and mittens, quick ate a banana and was out the door.
The sun was shining so it was pretty lovely, actually.
To people not from the upper midwest, you may not think that 10 degrees is warm, but I actually had to take off my mittens half a mile in.
The sun was shining, I took a route where minimal cars drive, and just kept on trucking.
In the 2 miles I had three jogging sessions, numerous mini ice rinks to go around, and avoided one almost dog attack.
The dog was not leashed, not fenced in, the owners were not inside, and it was barking with its hair standing up.
I grabbed for my mace at one point while trying to back up, and not go into the road of potential oncoming cars.
Finally the owners called for it after what felt like forever, and I continued on.
I now know which house to watch out for, and I will continue to carry my mace.
The route I take is a perfect two miles out and back, so training for the 2 mile race in a few weeks should be fairly painless.
Cross your fingers for no more snow, freezing rain, sleet, or anything like that.
I'm also debating doing a 5k on Easter morning; it's a walk/run so not so much pressure on time.
Now onto lunch with a friend, and then I get to make a baby shower cake in the shape of a onesie.
Cake is my life, that's for sure.
Happy Friday!
